5th-grade DARE graduation

On Jan. 25, 76 fifth-graders at Burton Elementary graduated from the D.A.R.E. program. Mrs. Randles, the assistant principal, welcomed parents, relatives and the students to start the ceremony.

BMI screening 2011-12

Body mass index is a required screening for students in grades K, 3, 5 and 9. Parent letters with a frequently asked questions sheet attached were sent home with elementary students in their Thursday folders on Dec. 8, and BMI was discussed with ninth-grade students on Dec. 9 by school nurse Kathy Pinkava.
