Burton spelling bee contest
Sixteen Burton Elementary students participated in the spelling bee competition Jan. 27. All of the students are to be congratulated for their efforts.
The final two students left were Becca Porter and Dan Bridavsky. In round nine, Dan won the competition by spelling the word "exhaust."

Interact Club helps those in need
The Berkshire High School Interact Club has been busy helping others this winter. Interact members teamed up on Dec. 19 to ring the bell for the Salvation Army.

The 2009-10 all-color yearbooks may be ordered now through Mrs. Arnold in the library. The cost is $65. Make checks payable to "Berkshire High School Yearbook." Yearbooks may also be ordered online at Jostensyearbooks.com.

Americanism Test winners
In November, 20 Berkshire students in grades 9-12 took the Americanism Test sponsored by the local post of the American Legion, Atwood Mauck Post 459. The test, which evaluated the students' knowledge of American government, was administered by Chairman Bruce Zupancic.
