Fire destroys cat sanctuary in Chester Township

An Tuesday afternoon fire destroyed a Chester Township cat sanctuary, causing at least an estimated $150,000 in damage and the loss of at least one cat, according to Fire Chief John Wargelin.

A Munson Township couple was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when their car struck a culvert and overturned on Auburn Road in Newbury Township.

2010 tax budget looking ‘grim’

Geauga County Commissioner Mary Samide said last week the 2011 county tax budget looked “grim.”
