Mary (nee Sangrik) Zima, of Hambden Township, died Feb. 26, 2013, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center. She was 95.
Born Nov. 7, 1917, in Cleveland to Wasil and Mary (nee Kosar) Sangrik, she had been a lifelong area resident.
Mary Sangrik married Frank Zima Jr. on Sept. 16, 1950; he preceded her in death Nov. 17, 2002.
She worked as a clerk for Zamer’s Music on the square in Chardon; enjoyed cooking and sewing; but her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandsons.
Mary is survived by her children, Brenda Armstrong of Chardon and Bryan Zima of Galena, Ohio; grandsons, Army Capt. Adam (Kim) of Ft. Benning, Ga., and Army Capt. Alex of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; great-granddaughters, Aida and Evelyn of Georgia; sister, Lillian (Neil) Hofstetter of Montville Township; sister-in-law Mary Ann Blazek of Hambden and Alvera Sangrik of Mentor; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers John and Joe Sangrik; and sister-in-law Gladys Sangrik.
Private family services were held.
