Samuel Mineo, of Chardon, died Dec. 11, 2012. He was 86.
Born April 17, 1926, in Cleveland to Louis and Clara (nee Shaw) Mineo, Sam was a longtime area resident.
He was an avid sports fan and a master bridge player, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Sam is survived by daughters, Susan Barnett of Lyndhurst, Ellen (Scott) Schuring of Elk Grove, Calif., and Kathryn (Tim) Pullman of Chardon; son, Jeffery (Laura) Mineo of Munson Township; grandchildren, Brian, Brent, Melissa, Lisa, Jami, Samantha and Emily; great-granddaughters, Ava and Anna; sister Agnes Ilkanic of Highland Heights; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Marion Ledinsky.
Private family service will be held.
A gathering of friends and family will be held Dec. 16 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
All donations will be forwarded by the family to the USS Cleveland Naval Reunion Fund.
