Evelyn Isabelle Venn went to be with the Lord on Nov. 4, 2012, surrounded by family.
She was born Feb. 24, 1918, to Floyd and Vena Fortney Hoskins in Windsor Township, Ohio. She lived the first 44 years of her life in Orwell and North Bloomfield before moving to Punta Gorda, Fla., in 1962.
Evelyn loved all animals and children. She spent her whole life working with the public and never met a stranger. Her greatest joy was helping someone.
Her hobbies included dancing, knitting, crocheting and counted cross stitch.
Upon returning to Ohio, she lived with her daughter Nancy. She volunteered for the Pioneers and stuffed bears for their Hug-A-Bear program.
For the past few years, she has been living at Fairmont Health Center, Breckenridge Village, Willoughby.
Survivors include a daughter from her first marriage, Nancy (Donald) Ondrejka of Chardon; grandchildren, Donna (Jason) Soncrant of Chardon, Elaine (Donald) Kuhl of Chardon and Donald (Tina) of Chardon; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Deidre, Samuel Soncrant, Donald and Evan Kuhl; a daughter from her second marriage, Millie (Joel) Eubanks of Johnstown, Tenn.; and grandson Richard; a step son Curtiss Venn of Sarasota, Fla.; grandchildren Kimmarie Kleinsasser of Gainesville, Fla., Laura Davidson of Portland, Ore., and Curtiss (Haley) of New York, N.Y.; and great-grandchildren Alex and Sam Kleinsasser of Gainesville, Fla.; sister-in-law Olive Gifford, Gunnison, Colo.; many nieces, nephews and cousins; daughters-in-law Gail Flynn and Janet Danitz and step-granddaughter Michelle Begg, all of Florida.
She was proceeded in death by her first husband, Newell Williams in 1945; her second husband, Wilfred Venn in 2011; son William in 1989; and sister Lena Coleman in 2006.

Evelyn’s family would like to express our deepest and most sincere gratitude to the Fairmount Health Center Staff for all their loving care over the years.
A memorial service will be held in Lyons Chapel at Breckenridge Village at a later date. A memorial service will be Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 116 South St., Chardon, with the family receiving friends from 1-2 p.m.
A private family burial will be held.
