Edith T. Wheelock, of Parkman Township, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center. She was 98.
Edith was born Oct. 31, 1913, in Moultrie, Ga., daughter of Joseph Samuel and Sallie (nee May) Rawlins.
A resident of this area for over 70 years, Edith was employed at Gould Inc. (formerly Graphite Bronze) in Cleveland for over 20 years.
She was a member of the 55 plus club in Parkman and St. Edward Catholic Church, where she was active in the church activities.
She also volunteered at Briar Hill Healthcare residence in Middlefield. She enjoyed playing Pinochle and being with her family.
Edith will be missed by her friends and family, including her children, Kedrythe (Horst) Rohrer and Jacqueline (Robert) Podboy, both of Parkman, Joyce (Thomas) Martin of Berlin Center, Ohio, and Donald Robert (Nancy) Wheelock of Parkman; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wheelock in 1986; daughter Catherine Louise Wheelock; parents; and sisters, Bernice Barfield and Juanita Moses.
The Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 16150 Center St., Parkman.
Visitation will be Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Russell Funeral Service, 15670 West High St., Middlefield.
Burial will be at Chardon Cemetery.
