Nathan P. Petersen, of Chardon, passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2012. He was 24.
Born May 28, 1988, in Chardon, Nate was a 2007 graduate of Berkshire High School in Burton and a 2012 graduate from the University of Mount Union in Alliance. He earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree, majoring in health and minoring in athletic training and multiage education.
He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau and was employed as a general manager of Chipolte Mexican Grill in South Euclid.
He also was an operator for Peterson Trucking and Excavating.
Nate was an avid deer hunter. His favorite sport was playing basketball. Nate also was a camp counsler at Camp Whitewood for three years.
Nate always made a point to say, “Hi,” to you and always put a smile on your face. He was a son, brother, boyfriend and a best friend. A friend to all and a stranger to none.
Nate is survived by his parents, Karyn and Nels Petersen of Chardon; sisters, Kimberly, Tina and Denise Petersen; and grandmother Joycelyn Masek of Newbury Township.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Petersen; grandfather Donald Masek; and grandparents Phillip and Marilyn Petersen.
A Memorial Service will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Berkshire High School Gym, 14510 Hickox St., Burton.
Family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. to the time of the service in the gym.
