Arthur W. Scheider, of Euclid, died Dec. 27, 2012, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center. He was 86.
Born March 23, 1926, in Cleveland to Arthur and Barbara Scheider, he had been a lifelong Euclid-area resident.
Art retired as a tool and die maker with General Motors and was a musician, playing stand up bass with many area bands over the years.
He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Art is survived by his daughter, Luray Siegel of Burton; sons, Robert of Hiram and Allen (Vicky) of Euclid; brother William (Norma) of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Isabelle M. (nee Washner) Scheider; and brother Al Scheider.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 3, 2013, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
Visitation is Jan. 2 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
