Peter J. Stamberger, of Roaming Shores passed away Oct. 7, 2012. He was 69.
Born Nov. 24, 1942 in Cleveland to Robert F. and Janice (nee Malm) Stamberger, Peter also lived in Newbury Township and then Roaming Shores for the past 20 years.
Peter was known for his generous heart and great sense of humor. He was a loving father of three and a good friend to many.
He was a volunteer firefighter at Newbury Fire Department, a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, an entrepreneur, loved the outdoors and was an avid boater and fisherman.
He retired as plumbing inspector for Ashtabula County in 2000.
Peter is survived by his son, Jon (Sue) Stamberger of Highland Heights; daughters, Wendy Stamberger of Nashville, Tenn., and Jamie Stamberger of Portland, Ore.; grandson, Derek Stamberger of Highland Heights; sisters, Jean (Ed) Graham of Cincinnati and Sally Sieger of Cincinnati; and brother, Robert (Kay) Stamberger Jr. of Sedona, Ariz.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15 at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m.
Private family burial will take place.
Donations are suggested to the American Diabetes Association of Cleveland and the Newbury Volunteer Fire Department.
