Nancy Jeanne Lord, of Burton, passed away Feb. 19, 2013, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center in Claridon Township. She was 70.
She was born on July 10, 1942, in Cleveland to William Arthur and Mildred Ruth (nee Corbett) McLaughlin. She graduated from Ohio University with BFA in Education.
A resident of this area for 30 years, Nancy worked in sales at Flambeau in Middlefield for over 20 years and at Shade Tree in Middlefield 10 years, retiring in 2009.
Her hobbies included bird watching and music. She was a choir director at Newbury Community Church for 20 years and directed several shows for Geauga Lyric Theatre Guild.
She will be missed by her friends and family, including sons, Robert William (Jacque) Lord of Seattle, Wash., and Donald Lee Lord of San Jose, Calif.; grandchildren, Carly, Graham and Simone; sister, Janis Lyn McLaughlin of Burton; and brother William Arthur (Delores) McLaughlin Jr. of Meadville, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Arthur and Mildred Ruth McLaughlin; and brother James Bruce McLaughlin.
A Memorial Gathering will be held 11 a.m. March 9 on the square at Burton Congregational Church, 14558 W. Park St., Burton.
