Richard C. Smith, of Munson Township, died Feb. 27, 2013, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center. He was 74.
Born Feb. 25, 1939, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Richard A. and Catherine (nee Henry) Smith, he had been a longtime area resident.
Richard married Noreen Burlinghaus on June 25, 1960, in Cleveland. He retired as a salesman with CEI, now FirstEnergy Corp.
Richard is survived by his wife, Noreen, of Munson; daughters, Donna (Mark) Ward of Tampa, Fla., Kathy (Craig) Vatty of Claridon Township and Sandy (Steve) McBride of Chardon; son, Richard (Christine) of Newbury Township; grandchildren, Rachel, Alex and Daniel Ward, Lindsey Rose, Steven and Shelby McBride, and Matthew and Benjamin Smith; and great-grandchild, Nicholas Rose.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Mass is set for 10 a.m. March 5 at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North St., Chardon.
A gathering of family and friends will be held March 4 from 5-8 p.m. at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Munson.
