The March 5 trustees meeting started at 7 p.m. with the approval of minutes from Dec. 14, Dec. 23 and Dec. 29 and Dec. 30, 2014 and all were approved. The board also approved the Recycle Committee minutes from its Feb. 19, 2015 with Trustee Petruziello abstaining because he did not attend the meeting.

At 7:03 p.m., the board moved into executive session for the purpose of discussions concerning compensation for township personnel and returned at 7:56 p.m.

After executive session, regular business for the township was conducted including purchase of additional salt, authorizing some repairs to an EMS squad and approving monies for the elected officials to attend the Auditor of State Local Government Officials Conference. After the conclusion of this business, the board passed motions regarding township employee compensation that has been previously reported by the Chesterland News in the March 11, 2015 edition.

Fiscal Office Craig Richter gave an overview of our financial status to the board. There was discussion about several issues including the electronic payment process for the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System, Fire Department EMS Squad refurbishment vs. replacement, Town Hall sign in policy, adding alternate members for the Zoning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals and cameras in and around the Township Properties for security purposes. No decisions were made regarding these matters and additional discussions will continue.

There was a discussion concerning the funding for the Park District and this matter will be discussed at the next special meeting on March 13 at 2 p.m. This meeting will also be for 2015 budgets and goals.

The board also rescheduled the March 19 regular Trustee meeting to March 20 at 3 p.m.

The meeting adjourned at 10:03 p.m.

All Trustee meetings are open to the public and we encourage more citizens to attend.
