Apples For Students Program
Eighth-graders at St. Helen School in Newbury Township are taking an opportunity to show their school spirit. Under the direction of Mrs. Amy Hotchkiss, health and physical education teacher, students are working to get their Apples for the Students promotion poster “liked” on Facebook.
Five spirited students, David Prots, Molly Goergen, Billy Martin, Kayla Martin and Nina Schulz, designed a poster that would enter them into the Giant Eagle Apples for the Students Program and win them additional physical education equipment.
The school sent out mass emails asking parents and friends to support them. St. Helens is among the more than one hundred schools that are in the running for the most likes on Facebook.
Visit Apples for the Students on Facebook and click on photos. After finding the picture representing St. Helen School, “like” it and the vote will help 250 students enjoy new and improved equipment.
