Breeders and Feeders
Breeders and Feeders 4-H Club held its annual summer picnic meeting on July 27, however, due to inclement weather, it was moved inside.
Many items were discussed to prepare members for the fair. Among those discussed was hoof trimming on Aug. 3 at the fair grounds; individual times should already be known. Also, if any members are doing safety posters, please remember they must be turned in to the Extension Office by Aug. 16.
The display board for the beef barn and the booth decorations for the Junior Fair Building were discussed. All members must have their fair pictures with their market animal turned in at the barn setup meeting on Aug. 25. The pictures must be 4×6 and printed horizontally.
Buyers letters were discussed as to what should be included in the letter to the buyers. Members were reminded to make sure to remind the buyers of the new starting time of 3:30 p.m. for the small animals in the tent across from the arena and the large animals at 5 p.m. in the arena.
Also discussed was the refreshment table and the members needing to bring a dozen snack items bagged individually for the buyers to enjoy. Weigh-in times were discussed and given for each species. If any member has questions, please ask the project advisor.
Hope to see all Breeders and Feeders members at the fair. (Submitted by Kelli Briggs, news reporter)
