Chardon Library Book Sale Nov. 1-3
The annual Cuddle-up-for-Winter book sale, sponsored by the Chardon Friends of the Library, will take place this weekend. The Friends preview is Nov. 1 from 9-10 a.m. One may join or renew membership at the entrance to the Bostwick Room. The sale opens to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The sale continues Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Nov. 3, from 15 p.m. Sunday is Bag Day.
It is a great fundraiser with all proceeds going to library programs and other library needs.
It’s time to fall back so change the clocks this weekend. Daylight-saving time ends at 2 a.m. Nov. 3 and Eastern Standard Time begins. It means everyone gets an extra hour of sleep Saturday evening.
Comment For The Day
The Honor Flight traveled to Washington, D.C., on Oct. 30 for the express purpose of allowing esteemed veterans to view the war memorials. Jan Thuran and Judy Lutzke are Chardon’s area “ambassadors” who accompanied John Cocco and others on this memorable flight. God bless them for their service, dedication and commitment to freedom in America.
Also, enjoy Halloween with one’s children and grandchildren. Keep the porch light on. The predicted 65-degree weather should be great. Be careful of all the children crossing the streets and remember, parents love treats, too.
