Government
Trustee meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m. at the town hall. The next meeting is July 16.
All township meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend. Call 440-636-5486 for more details.
Roads
Dust control applications will be spread sometime during the week of July 15 on roads that require a new application; weather permitting.
Zoning
Residents must obtain a zoning permit prior to making construction changes of any kind. Call the office at 440-636-5486, ext. 3 and leave a message.
The Board of Zoning Appeals will meet at 7 p.m. July 15 to hear an appeal for Mr. Allen J.B. Miller, 17291 Burton Windsor, for the establishment of a small engine repair service.
Huntsburg Grange
Huntsburg Grange summer concerts in Memorial Park continue July 21 with Fort Huntsburg Band – Keepin’-it-Country. The event will feature a church bake sale, 50/50 raffle and international food.
Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music. Concerts will be held indoors in the town hall if there is rain.
Pumpkin Festival
The 44th annual Pumpkin Festival will be held on Oct. 5 and 6.
Huntsburg maple syrup producers who would like to donate syrup for the pumpkin festival should call Nancy at 440-636-5197. We would love to show off all the fine syrup produced right here in Huntsburg.
Residents interested in joining the festival committee are asked to call 440-636-5197 for information on how to join.
Recycle
Bring all unwanted catalogs, phone books, newspapers, school and office papers, magazines, paperback books and junk mail to the recycle bin at Huntsburg Recreation Park.
Huntsburg is working hard to be environmentally friendly. The recycling bin is here for the whole community to use.
The township even earns money for the paper it collects. This way, residents can support the town and not have to reach into their pockets.
The recycling center will now accept cardboard.
Shredded paper is accepted in clear plastic bags. Please put a small hole in the bag to allow air to escape, but not the paper.
Thank you for recycling. Please keep the recycling center clean.
Notices, Births & Happenings
The Huntsburg Historical Society meets at the Huntsburg Community Center. Call Carl Seliskar at 440-636-5820 for more information.
