Government
Trustee meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m. at the town hall. The next meeting is March 5.
All township meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend. Call 440-636-5486 for more information.
Trustee Jerry M. Rose Jr. is the chairman and Trustee James L. Baker is the vice chairman for this year.
Baseball sign-ups
Sign-ups will be Feb. 23 and March 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Huntsburg Town Hall.
Divisions are: T-Ball, ages 5-6, boys and girls; PeeWees, ages 7-8, boys and girls; Minors, ages 9-10, boys; Majors, ages 11-12, boys; Ponies, ages 13-14, boys; and Colts, ages 15-16, boys.
For information, contact Rich Collins at 440-479-4111.
Zoning
Zoning Inspector Erik Mirossay wishes to remind all residents to obtain a zoning permit prior to making construction changes of any kind. Call the office at 440-636-5486, ext. 3 to leave him a message; he will return the call.
Roads
Now that the winter weather has arrived, trustees wish to remind residents not to plow the snow from their driveways into and across the roads.
Please do not plow snow into the ditch across from your drive. Placing the extra snow in the ditches will stop the natural drainage of water as the snow melts and can even plug runoff pipes from neighboring properties, resulting in flooding over the roadways. Remember to instruct plow drivers to keep all snow on your property.
Recycle
Bring all unwanted catalogs, phone books, newspapers, school and office papers, magazines, paperback books and junk mail to the recycle bin at Huntsburg Recreation Park.
Huntsburg is working hard to be environmentally friendly. The recycling bin is here for the whole community to use.
The township even earns money for the paper it collects. This way, residents can support the town and not have to reach into their pockets.
Do not leave cardboard. It is not a cardboard recycling facility.
Shredded paper is accepted in clear plastic bags. Please put a small hole in the bag to allow air to escape, but not the paper.
Thank you for recycling. Trustees hope everyone will make it their New Year’s resolution to be diligent about recycling throughout the year.
Please keep the recycling center clean.
