Grief Share Program Beginning

New Promise Church will begin another Grief Share 13-week program, designed for people grieving the loss of someone dear. The first session begins Oct. 8 7-9 p.m. Each session includes videos, group discussions and Biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics.

Cost is $20, which covers registration, notebook, materials and refreshments served each week.

Community Day of Prayer

Everyone is invited to a Community Day of Prayer for our nation on Sept. 28, rain or shine, from 1-2 p.m. at the gazebo on Chardon Square. The one-hour presentation is hosted by Mike Farrell and Concerned Citizens of Our Community. All are welcome to come pray for the nation, the countrys leadership and the military. Bring American flags.

Elderlife Sweetest Day Dinner Dance

The Federated Church Elderlife group will hold a Sweetest Day dinner dance Oct. 19 from 5:30-9 p.m. at The Family Life Center, 16349 Chillicothe Road in Bainbridge. Enjoy a dinner catered by Heinens followed by dancing to music from the 40s through the 70s. Cost is $40 per person.

There will be dance contests and prizes. Singles and couples are welcome.

Advanced reservations and payment are required by Oct. 11 by calling the church at 440-247-6490. Proceeds benefit the Clyde Transportation Fund for the purchase of the next Elderlife bus.
