Hambden Elementary Turns 90
Help us celebrate Hambden Elementary School’s 90th birthday on Oct. 23. The doors will be open at 6:30 p.m. to welcome former students and teachers, as well as current faculty, students and their families and friends.
The school has been collecting class pictures, memorabilia and other artifacts to display.
Parking will be at the school, township hall and the township park across the street.
If anyone has any Hambden Elementary memorabilia to add to the display, please drop it off in the school office.
Special thanks goes to the Chardon Schools Foundation for sponsoring this important event.
Fire Dept. Clam/Steak Bake
Hambden Fire Department will hold its second and final clam and steak bake of the season on Oct. 19 from 7-8:30 p.m. Dinner includes a dozen clams or steak, half a chicken, two ears of corn, sweet potatoes, clam broth and beverages. Cost is $25.
Call 440-285-3329 for reservations.
Hambden Terrific Kids
The Hambden Terrific Kids program is a joint partnership with Chardon Kiwanis and Hambden PTO. It gives recognition to Hambden students each month.
In September, third-graders Zoe Eichele, Jake Barker, Lucas Fay and Gracie Byers were all recognized for using outstanding manners.
Fourth-graders Andrew Nelson, Emily Niederst, Maeve Phelan and Dillon O’Connor and fifth-graders Jimmy Kankula, Lindsey Leggett, Malena Muni and Mateo Chavero were recognized for their outstanding good manners as well.
Trustees are so proud of these students and glad they were given the recognition they deserved.
