It’s almost here, this Sunday, Aug. 10, from 1-5 p.m., is our annual community picnic. There will be live music, an amazing Chinese auction, games, prizes and food.
Banjo the Clown will once again be entertaining us all with his magic and awesome balloon creations.
We’ll be bringing back the watermelon eating contest and have sand art for our younger crowd.
This year’s door prizes are fantastic and include an overnight getaway and terrific gift cards.
Hambden resident Diane Heald is continuing the tradition begun last year and has made a beautiful afgan to honor our military. This will be part of a free raffle open to all who have served in the military, both past and present.
Our fire department will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs and chips. Hambden Grange will have ice cream, pop and water for sale and there will be free popcorn and sno cones for everyone.
Can’t forget about the Cake (Bakery) Walk and there will also be the Safety Trailer that was such a hit last year with our kids.
We have a great selection items in our Chinese auction for children and adults as well.
Be sure to come and join in on the fun!
Township Hall Rental
Our township hall is available to Hambden residents (ID required) to rent at a cost of $25 per day. There is also a security deposit required when you pick up the building key. This deposit is returned as long as the renter removes his trash from the premises and leaves the building as he found it.
A signed rental agreement is required to secure a date of use.
If you are interested in renting the township hall for an event, please call the office at 440-286-4364 or stop in and we would be happy to check availability.
Please note that no smoking or alcoholic beverages are permitted in the facility.
Our Hambden Highlights Newsletters will have arrived by now. If you didn’t receive yours, please call the township hall at 440-286-4364 and they will make sure you are on the mailing list and get one out to you.
We always like to hear from our residents. If you have something you would like to let your friends and neighbors know about, whether it is a new business, meeting or special occasion, please email Nadine Pope at email@example.com. I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
