New Park Board Member
Our thanks go to Eric Germovsek for showing an interest in being part of the Hambden Township Park Board. Eric was recently appointed to serve as the alternate to the board, filling a position that has been vacant for several months.
The township is very lucky to have someone with Eric’s experience as a member of the park board. Eric is a teacher with Ledgemont Schools, but has been a summer road crew employee for Hambden nearly every summer for the past 20 years.
He has been involved in the evolution and care and maintenance of the park for many summers and will add valuable insight to its future development.
Change In Meeting Date
Township trustees usually meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month. The second meeting in April, however, will be held on April 15 at 6 p.m. instead of April 16 due to a scheduling conflict.
Trustees always hope the residents will attend the meetings because they value community input.
Spring Trash Day
Spring Trash Day will be held April 26 at the township park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appliances, building materials and metal, even boats and campers, will be accepted.
The township cannot take garbage, yard waste, hazardous chemicals or paint cans unless they are empty and the paint is dried.
For more information, call the township hall at 440-286-4364.
Looking For New Members
I want to thank the people who have contacted me with their interest in helping out with this year’s picnic. We are hoping to schedule a meeting in mid-April to get things rolling for this year’s picnic. The date will be in this article as well as on the sign in front of the township hall. Please feel free to just show up.
I will be contacting those residents who have already contacted me. I look forward to seeing many new faces.
Fire Dept. Easter Egg Hunt
Hambden Township Fire Department will hold its annual Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. April 19 at the township park. All Hambden children are welcome to attend
There will be separate events for the youngest residents, ages 2-4, 5-7 and 8-10. I have to check with the fire department to get the exact age groups, but there definitely will be much fun and prizes for all the kids who attend.
We’d love to hear from you. If there is something you would like to share with our readers, whether it’s a new business, meeting or special occasion, please email Nadine Pope at email@example.com.
