Township Hall Rental

The township hall is available to Hambden residents to rent at a cost of $25 per day. Identification is required.

There is also a security deposit required when picking up the building key. This deposit is returned as long as the renter removes the trash from the premises and leaves the building as it was found. A signed rental agreement is required to secure a date of use.

If anyone is interested in renting the township hall for an event, please call the office at 440-286-4364 or stop in to check for availability. Please note that no smoking or alcoholic beverages are permitted in the facility.

Hambden Community Picnic

The Bondstown Bash, Hambden’s community picnic, will take place Aug. 10 from 1-5 p.m. In looking back, we think this will be its 30th anniversary, which is another reason to celebrate.

There will be live music, a Chinese auction, games, watermelon eating contest, prizes and food. Banjo the Clown will once again be entertaining everyone with his magic and balloon creations and there will be sand art for the younger crowd.

This year’s door prizes are fantastic and include an overnight getaway and terrific gift cards.

Hambden resident Diane Heald is continuing a tradition begun last year and is making an afghan to honor the military that will be part of a free raffle at the picnic.

Any local business owner who would like to make a donation to the Chinese auction can contact the township hall at 440-286-4364. In addition, the planning committee is always looking for baskets to use for auction items. To donate an item, just give us a call or drop it off.

Be sure to come and join in on the fun.

The committee will be meeting again on July 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the township hall. Please join us.

Concert in the Park

The township will host its Concert in the Park July 20 from 4-6 p.m. at Hambden Township Park.

Performing this year will be the Northern Comfort Band, a roots country band dedicated to bringing the classic sounds of traditional country music to today’s audiences. The quartet is from Northeast Ohio and draws its influence from American music icons like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings.

Formed in 2007, the band has been playing its brand of foot stomping, honky tonk music to pleased audiences across the region. Whether it’s straight up country or hopped-up swing, the band will put a smile on everyone’s face and a spring in one’s two-step.

Township Newsletters

Hambden Highlights newsletters should be in the mail soon. Be sure to look for more information about the concert in the park and the 30th anniversary of the community picnic, the Bondstown Bash.
