What a beautiful day for a picnic. Everything from the weather to the music to the food and prizes could not have been better.
There are so many people to thank for making this special day happen that I’d be sure to leave someone out if I tried to name everyone. Thank you to everyone on the committee who worked so hard to pull everything together this year.
The addition of the sand art and watermelon eating contest were huge hits. Next year, we’re going to have to buy a lot more sand.
Hambden Fire Department and Hambden Grange did so much to add to the day’s enjoyment with their great food and the free popcorn and sno cones sold out. Auction items were terrific and thanks go to everyone who donated.
One very special thing done at the picnic was to honor Hambden Road Superintendent David Heald. Dave has been with the township for 30 years and we wanted to let him know how much we appreciate all he has done and continues to do for us. Dave was presented with cards signed by all of the employees and a gift card.
Thanks to G-TV for being there and filming some of the picnic’s highlights. Be sure to look for them on your local cable channel.
