Ice Cream Social
The Chardon Schools will host an old-fashioned ice cream social on the square on Aug. 2, from 5:307 p.m., to introduce the community to the district’s new superintendent, Michael P. Hanlon, Jr., whose official start date is Aug. 1.
The free event will allow students, parents and community members to meet Dr. Hanlon on a more casual basis while enjoying a frozen summer treat. Ice cream and toppings are courtesy of local law firm, Thrasher, Dinsmore & Dolan.
Supplies are limited, so ice cream will be served until it runs out. In the event of rain, the social will be held at Park Auditorium on Chardon Square.
Attendees can also enjoy the farmers’ market from 4-8 p.m. and stay for the concert in the park at 7 p.m., during which local band Abbey Rodeo will perform a variety of British Invasion, oldies and country music. Both events are held on Chardon Square every Friday night during the summer.
