Red Ribbon Week
Sheriff Dan McClelland and Midge visited as part of Red Ribbon Week. The theme for the week was “A Healthy Me Is Drug Free.” All week during morning announcements sixth-graders read facts about being drug free.
On Oct. 22, the entire school walked laps around the building as a statement for “A Healthy Me Is Drug Free.” As the students finished, Principal Sandy Smith gave each student a red wristband imprinted with “A Healthy Me Is Drug Free.”
On Oct. 23, all students voluntarily signed a banner pledging to be drug free. Then, on Oct. 24, students participated in various reading and writing activities pertaining to the theme. They each received a bookmark and a pencil imprinted with “A Healthy Me Is Drug Free.”
