All trustees meetings have a time slot on the meeting agenda for public comment. Residents are welcome to voice their opinions and questions on the addition to township hall.

All township offices will be closed Nov. 28 in observance of Thanksgiving Day.
Choosing A County Commissioner
The GOP Central Committee will meet at 10 a.m. Nov. 9 at GOP Headquarters, 11993 Ravenna Road, Munson, to choose a replacement commissioner for Tracy Jemison. This person will run for election in 2014 to retain that seat. The meeting is open to the public.
The unofficial list includes Skip Claypool, Phil King, Nancy McArthur, Mark Porter and Blake Rear. Attendees will not have a vote, but can submit a choice by contacting their central committee member prior to Nov. 9.
Veterans Day Ceremony
Everyone is invited to participate in a Veterans Day ceremony at 2 p.m. Nov. 10, rain or shine, at the Geauga Veterans Monument, just east of the Chardon Senior Center on Ravenwood Drive, Munson.
Guest speaker will be Larry Ayers, retired U.S. Army colonel. A chaplain and color guard will be provided by the Burton American Legion.

At the Senior Center
The Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson, will be closed Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day. The center will also be closed Nov. 27 for staff workday and Nov. 28 and 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
All activities scheduled for Nov. 12 will not be held. The Chardon Senior Center will be open only to those who are registered for the Veterans Day program.
Lynne from Kemper House will be at the center Nov. 14 at 12:30 p.m. to teach ways to exercise brains and stay healthy. For more information, call 440-279-2131 or 440-279-2137.
At the Rookery
The Geauga Park District’s Rookery will be closed to the public Nov. 23 and 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the youth hunting program for ages 17 years and younger. The youngsters are to be accompanied by a non-hunting adult.
Prizes will be given by Geauga County Judge Timothy Grendell. The GPD advises neighbors of the Rookery to keep children and pets away from the perimeters of the park while the hunt takes place.

Tickets are still available for the Geauga County Library Foundation’s Guest Speaker Series featuring Craig Johnson, author of the Walt Langmire series. The program takes place Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Education Center auditorium, 13000 Auburn Road, Munson.
Tickets for the reception and program are $20 each and must be reserved by Nov. 11.
Tickets for the program only are $5 each and will be available at the door. Tickets are also available at all Geauga County public libraries.
Veterans Day will be observed Nov. 11. Originally, Veterans Day was called Armistice Day until 1954 when President Eisenhower signed legislation to change it to Veterans Day as a way to honor the millions of men and women who served during World War I, World War II and the Korean War. Americans continue to honor those who served during Vietnam, the Gulf War and the Middle East.
Fly the beautiful U.S. flag on Nov. 11 in tribute to these fine men and women and give silent thanks to all veterans who have given so much and continue to give.
