From the Road Department

Placing a sign in the triangle at Auburn Road and Wilson Mills Road is not allowed. Munson Township Road Department maintains that little plot year-round and flowers are planted there every year for everyone to enjoy while stopping at the stop signs at the intersection. Any signs placed will be removed and charges may follow.

Help Wanted

WomenSafe is seeking to hire a midnight shift, full-time resident care worker at the Green House on Ravenna Road in Munson. Primary duties involve light housekeeping, clerical duties and assisting victims of domestic violence. Hours are from 12 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Minimum qualifications include high school diploma and background check. No phone calls, please.

GCAC Juried Art Show

The Geauga Council for Arts and Culture (GCAC) extends an early invitation to area artists, 16 years and older, to enter its Juried Art Show to be held Aug. 6-15 at Geauga West Library. A maximum of three entries per artist is allowed and due at the library on Aug. 4.

Cash prizes will be awarded at the artists’ reception taking place Aug. 6 from 5-7 p.m. For information and entry blanks, call Paul Newman at 440-286-9549.

NAMI Peer Support

The Geauga County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will hold its next peer support group meeting at 7 p.m. June 5 at the Geauga Board of Mental Health & Recovery, 13244 Ravenna Road, Munson.

The monthly meetings are free and offer education, support and advocacy to those affected by mental illness and their families. Registration is not necessary.

At the Senior Center

The Geauga County Department on Aging Garden Committee will be hosting an afternoon Tea Party in the Garden on June 7 from 2-4 p.m. in the pavilion of the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson.

Tri-County Coin Club

The Tri-County Coin Club will meet June 12 at 7 p.m. at St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road, Munson. Following a short business meeting, there will be a 50-plus-lot coin auction, door prizes, coin displays and more.

The monthly meetings are free and open to all ages of coin collectors. For more information, call 440-564-7142.

Save the Date

Munson’s annual community day at Munson Park on Bass Lake Road will take place Aug. 2 from noon to 5 p.m. There will be music, entertainment, games, prizes and more.

The event is free and fun for the whole family.
