Free Fitness Club

A free Allfitness 4youClub with Stefanie Scarvelli, Beach Body coach, will be held weekly in the community room at the Munson Township Hall either Wednesdays or Thursdays at 6 p.m. depending on availability of the community room. Interested parties may call Stefanie at 440-552-6787.

Supplies for WomenSafe

WomenSafe has a list of supplies that are always needed to help victims of domestic violence who are either sheltered at The Green House or moving to a new residence. Laundry and cleaning supplies, clothing and footwear for children and adults, over-the-counter medications and personal hygiene products would be appreciated.

With the Arts

The Geauga Council for Arts & Culture will have a “Swap & Shop Table” June 21 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Geauga Arts Jam on Chardon Square. Bring up to six pieces of frames, paintings, prints and other works of art to trade for credit to purchase one or more pieces on display.

Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Chardon will be held June 21 and 22 at Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin High School, 13000 Auburn Road, Munson. On Friday at 9:30 p.m., the lighting of hundreds of luminaria candles will honor cancer survivors and those who have lost their fight with cancer.

The overnight event with food and entertainment is sponsored by Fairmount Minerals/Best Sand. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

Document Destruction

Free document destruction will be held June 21, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Geauga Engineer’s Yard, 12655 Merritt Road, Munson. Limit per vehicle is four banker boxes. No commercial businesses.

Amateur Radio Assoc.

The Geauga Amateur Radio Association (GARA) will meet at 7:30 p.m. June 23 at the Geauga County Emergency Operations Center, 12518 Merritt Road, Munson. Meetings are open to all who are licensed “hams” and those who are interested in becoming familiar with this type of international talk radio.

Food Addicts in Recovery

Food Addicts in Recovery (FAIR) will meet June 25 from 6:30-8 p.m. at St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road, Munson. The free weekly meetings of FAIR offer support, nutrition information and encouragement to those who are making an effort to lose weight and remain healthy.

NDCL Golf Classic

Registration is open for the 2014 Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Golf Classic taking place Aug. 8 at Fowler’s Mill Golf Course, 13095 Rockhaven Road, Munson. Shotgun start is at 9 a.m.

Fee is $150 per player and includes four-person scramble, breakfast, snack and lunch.

At the Senior Center

The Mah Jongg Group at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson, invites new players to learn this fascinating game on Wednesday afternoons from 1-4 p.m. Reservations are not necessary.

Meet Jessica Boalt, the new director of the Department on Aging, on June 24 at 12:30 p.m. and enjoy dessert while getting to know her.

Also at the senior center, talented singer Dave Michaels will entertain at 12:30 p.m. June 30. Those wishing to have lunch prior to the event must make reservations by June 24 by calling 440-279-2131.
