Township Meetings
At Munson Township Hall: Dec. 17, Board of Trustees, 6 p.m.; Dec. 17, Park & Recreation Board, 6 p.m.; Dec. 31, Board of Trustees, fiscal year-end closure and other business, 11 a.m.
All township offices will be closed Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas Day.
Organization Meetings

Board Volunteers Needed
Munson residents interested in serving voluntarily on the Park & Recreation Board or the Zoning Commission are urged to mail a letter of interest with complete resume to the attention of the Munson Board of Trustees, 12210 Auburn Road, Chardon, OH, 44024, no later than Dec. 20. Information can also be dropped off at the office, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

From Our Fire Department
The Munson Fire Department advises that furnaces should be inspected and cleaned annually as well as having soot removed from the fireplace chimneys. If one’s home is not equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, Chief Mark Lynn advises taking steps immediately to install these items on every floor of the home.
Fire deaths increase during cold weather and can be prevented by proper maintenance and heating devices. For information and advice on fire prevention, escape plans and/or installing heating cables around gutters, call the non-emergency number at 440-286-6797.
Donations Needed
WomenSafe is in need of various household products, such as garbage bags, bathroom sets, alarm clocks, laundry soap and cleaning supplies, to help victims of domestic violence at the Green House, Ravenna Road in Munson and other locations throughout northeast Ohio.

Art from the Heart
The Geauga Humane Society and the Republic of Artists will host Art from the Heart Dec. 13 from 5-10 p.m., Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Dec. 15 from 12-5 p.m. at Republic of Artists, 4925 Pointe Parkway in Warrensville Heights.
The event features beautiful arts and crafts and adoptable cats and dogs. Meet the artists and view their beautiful work.
Admission is $2 per person, with a portion of proceeds to benefit the Geauga Humane Society. For more information, call the Geauga Humane Society at 440-338-4819.
Santa at Geauga Lyric Theatre
A free community program, including crafts, games and refreshments with Santa, will be held Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Geauga Lyric Theatre, 101 Water St. in Chardon.

At The Senior Center
The following programs will be held at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson:
Mildred Dennis, retired teacher and newspaper columnist will share some of her life’s struggles and triumphs at 12:45 p.m. Dec. 16. On Dec. 17 at 11 a.m., the Senior Players will perform and the Chardon Polka Band will entertain at 12:30 p.m.
Then, on Dec. 19, 10:30 a.m., Geauga Renaissance, the center’s choral group, will perform holiday favorites.
Registration is not required for these programs. If one is uncertain about the senior center being closed due to inclement weather, call 440-279-2131. The Chardon Senior Center will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 and Jan. 1 in observance of the holidays.
Celebrate Recovery
Morning Star Friends Church, 12550 Ravenna Road, Munson, will hold its next Celebrate Recovery meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 12. It is a Christian 12-step program for those who are seeking to recover from any form of addiction. There will be fellowship and a meal served at 6:15 p.m.
The weekly meetings are free; registration is appreciated, but not required. For information, call 440-286-2510.
Christmas Eve Services
Fowler’s Mill Christian Church, 10755 Mayfield Road, Munson, extends an open invitation to its two candlelight Christmas Eve services on Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The church is located just east of Alpine Valley ski area.
