With Sympathy

Heartfelt sympathy is offered to family and friends of Munson resident Marie Warner, who passed away April 13 at the age of 94. She was born in Heidenheim, Germany, and came to the United States with her parents when she was 11 years old.

Warner served on the Munson Township Zoning Commission and was a Sunday school teacher at Fowlers Mill Christian Church. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Eagle Scouts Honored

Eagle Scouts Matthew J. Baron, Eric M. Siktberg, Ryan L. McDivitt and Benjamin M. Roessler, members of Munson’s Boy Scout Troop 91, were honored with resolutions issued by the Munson Trustees at the April 22 meeting citing their achievements to earn the Eagle Scout rank. The resolutions will remain permanently in the township’s records.

Best wishes go to each of these fine young men for continued success.

Historic Tidbit

One of our national treasures, Irving Berlin, was born in Belarus May 11, 1888. He came to the United States with his family when he was 5 years old. A self-educated musician and great patriot, he wrote what has virtually become our second national anthem, ” God Bless America.” He also wrote a great Christmas classic, “White Christmas.”
