Township Meetings
At Munson Township Hall: July 9, Munson Township public hearing for 2014 tax budget followed by regular trustees meeting, 6:30 p.m.; July 9, Munson Park & Recreation Board, 6:30 p.m.; July 18, Board of Zoning Appeals, 6:30 p.m.; July 23, Board of Trustees, 6:30 p.m.
Please note: All township meetings are open to the public. All trustees meetings have a time-slot for “Public Comment” on any topic of concern in the township. Meeting dates are subject to change and can be verified by visiting or by calling the office, 440-286-9255.
Organization Meetings
At Munson Park, Bass Lake Road: July 8-11, Munson Sports Camp, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Emmons Pavilion, July 14, Chardon High School cheerleading squad volleyball fundraiser, all day; July 27, Chardon High School Competition Cheerleading Team, all day; Volleyball Court, through Aug. 25, Geauga YMCA Youth Volleyball League, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Munsonite Gregory J. McCaulley, son of John and Maureen McCaulley, recently graduated from Northwest Lineman College, Meridian, Idaho, from which he received the Iron Lineman Challenge Award.
Greg was mobilized to New York to assist with the Hurricane Sandy disaster relief and is currently employed as an Apprentice Electric Distribution Worker with the City of Painesville.

Munson’s Proposed 2014 Tax Budget
Two copies of the proposed 2014 tax budget for Munson Township will be available for public inspection until July 9 in the township office, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A public hearing on this will be held prior to the trustees regular meeting, July 9, 6:30 p.m.
Volunteers and Donations Needed
Volunteers are needed to help set up the evening before and during the day of township’s annual Community Day Picnic, Aug. 3.
The event starts with a picnic lunch at 3 p.m. and fun and entertainment to follow until 8 p.m.
Donations of merchandise for the auctions and raffle are also required.

At the Senior Center
Fred Samardge offers “Putting Pointers” to help you with your golf game, Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 10-11 a.m., on the new putting green at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson.
Bring your own putter and wear soft sole shoes (no heels please).
July 10 is game day at the Senior Center beginning at 10 a.m. with a variety of board games, card games, cornhole contests and more. Reservations are not necessary.
Be sure to visit the Senior Art Show at the Chardon Senior Center during the month of July and view beautiful works of paintings, woodcarvings, jewelry and much more created by Geauga County seniors.
Please note: All Geauga County Senior Centers and the Department on Aging will be closed July 4 and July 5. The Chardon Senior Center will also be closed Wednesday, July 31.
Food Addicts in Recovery
The next meeting of Food Addicts in Recovery (FAIR) will be Wednesday, July 10, 6:30-8 p.m., at St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road, Munson.
FAIR offers support, nutrition information and encouragement to those who are making an effort to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Meetings are free and registration is not necessary.

Tri-County Coin Club
The Tri-County Coin Club will meet at 7 p.m. July 11 at St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road, Munson.
Following a short business meeting, there will be a 50-plus-lot coin auction, coin displays, and more. The meetings are free and open to coin collectors of all ages.

Amish Wedding Dinner
Friends of WomenSafe are presenting their annual Amish Wedding Dinner on Saturday, July 20 at Yoder’s Home Cooking, 14729 Patch Road, Troy Township.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner served at 6 p.m. There will also be a Chinese auction.
Cost per adult is $30 and children 10 and under, $15. Space is limited. Reservations are required by calling 440-285-3741.
Proceeds benefit accommodations and services offered to victims of domestic violence at WomenSafe, Inc’s Green House on Ravenna Road.
