During activity block on Oct. 25, NDCL’s Link Crews participated in a friendly Halloween costume competition. Under the guidance of their junior and senior link leaders, freshmen were challenged to create an authentic costume from the materials provided.
Built on the belief that students can help other students succeed, Link Crew trains members of the junior and senior class to be yearlong link leaders. As positive role models, link leaders motivate incoming freshmen and help them discover what it takes to be successful in high school. The freshmen are linked to their mentors and meet once a month throughout the school year.
“Link Crew empowers our juniors and seniors to take a vital leadership role within their school. Through Link Crew, they actively connect with incoming freshmen and support them throughout the entire school year,” said Mrs. Rachel Siegel, director of college, counseling and support services.
The winning group will receive a special treat on the next Link Day.
2012-13 Annual Report
The fall issue of “Seasons,” NDCL’s annual report, will soon arrive in homes.
“The giving during 2012-2013 celebrated in this issue is a testimonial to the generosity and commitment of our donors,” commented President Sr. Jacquelyn Gusdane, SND.
“These men and women truly embrace our mission,” she continued. “Their gifts to NDCL’s endowment fund, the NDCL Fund, and the Notre Dame Circle make it possible for 42 percent of our students, whose families qualify for need-based tuition assistance, to attend NDCL. It is my deepest hope that the student recipients will, in their adult life, return this lasting gift of a Catholic education to another family with need.”
“Seasons,” which is available online at ndcl.org, also features articles highlighting the academic and other outstanding achievements of the students.
