Christmas Worship at Federated Church

The Federated Church Chancel Choir will perform Giacomo Puccinis Gloria and selections from Handels Messiah accompanied by a 25-piece orchestra on Dec. 8 at the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services. The church is located at 76 Bell St. in Chagrin Falls.

On Dec. 15 at 10:15 a.m., the childrens choir will present Mr. Kittnerss Christmas Clock between morning worship services. Nearly 40 children will present this costumed mini-musical about finding the true spirit of the Christmas season.

A service of lessons and carols will take place Dec. 22 at the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services. The service includes poignant scripture passages interspersed with music of the season performed by The Olson Bell Choir, FORTE youth choir, The Ensemble, Alive360 band, Federated Chamber Singers and Federated Brass.

Service of Solace

Holidays can be a very difficult time for some. Federated Church offers support for those in need with a Service of Solace on Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel at 76 Bell St. in Chagrin Falls.

The service will include singing, praying and reflecting and all are welcome to attend, whether in need or willing to offer support and compassion.

Christmas Concert, Supper

Embrace the spirit of the season and come to Pilgrim Christian Churchs annual Christmas concert at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 14. Enjoy the sounds of bells, brass, voice, dulcimer, guitar and organ and join in singing classic carols, followed by a light supper in the fellowship hall.

The event is free. A freewill offering will be accepted, with proceeds going toward the steeple restoration.

A Night in Bethlehem

All are invited to enjoy an evening of Christmas joy by attending A Night in Bethlehem on Dec. 7 from 5-8 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 12686 Bass Lake Road in Chardon.

The free event will include a Nativity walk through featuring nativity scenes set up throughout the church, Bethlehem Bakery, free cookies coffee, hot chocolate and wassail, Away in the Manger and activities and entertainment for children.

Christmas Events At New Promise Church

New Promise Church will host Santa Meets Jesus Dec. 8, from 5-8 p.m. The evening includes Santas House, Elf Workshop, Reindeer Hideout, North Pole Express, Play Land, Santas Gift Hut, Snowflake Cafe and a live Nativity. Also, get a free photo with Santa.

The annual Christmas musical presentation, Come Let Us Worship the King by the worship choir and drama ministries, takes place Dec. 15 at the 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services.

Christmas Eve services will be at 5 p.m. Dec. 24.

Live Nativity

Hambden Congregational Church will present its 12th annual live Nativity Dec. 14 from 5-8 p.m. Admission is free.

In addition, numerous Nativity sets and biblical scenes will be on display inside the church. A children’s craft center and free refreshments will be set up in fellowship hall.

Catholics Coming Home

Divine Word Church in Kirtland is holding a seven-week series, Catholics Coming Home, for inactive or non-practicing Catholics seeking information about returning to the church in a welcoming, non-judgmental atmosphere. Friends or family members who have drifted away from the Catholic church are welcome to attend the class that meets Tuesdays, Jan. 14 through Feb. 25, from 7-8:30 p.m.

Elderlife Holiday Dinner

The Federated Church Elderlife group will hold its annual holiday dinner at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 18 at The Family Life Center, 16349 Chillicothe Road in Bainbridge. Cosentinos will cater a pork tenderloin dinner.

Cost for the dinner is $10 and reservations must be received by Dec. 13 by calling 440-247-6490. Payment can be made at the door with a reservation.

Following dinner, guests will be entertained by The Men of Chagrin, a group of 14 singers sponsored by Federated Church and directed by Bill and Carol Foley.

New Promise Church, located at 8671 Euclid-Chardon Road in Kirtland, will begin its DivorceCare program at 7 p.m. Dec. 3. Class will continue each Tuesday through Feb. 26.

The program is designed for people experiencing separation and divorce. Guests are welcome to begin attending any week; each session is self-contained.

Right To Life Christmas Concert

The Geauga County Right to Life concert will be held at Chester Christian Center A/G Church Dec. 8 starting at 7 p.m. The concert will feature the Christmas a cappella strings group, Celtic Christmas carols with Debby Biro and guitarist Jeff Hise, guitarist and pianist David Gorski.

The concert is free, but a free will offering will be taken with all proceeds benefitting the Geauga County Right to Life.
