Leading a Brain Healthy Lifestyle: Nov. 14, 12:30 p.m. Lynne from Kemper House will teach seniors ways to exercise their brains and stay healthy.

Turkey Bowl Returns: Nov. 15, 1 p.m. Burton Healthcare will provide refreshments and prizes for a fun event. Seniors can try their luck at knocking down bowling pins with a 7-pound frozen turkey breast or just come and cheer on their favorite bowler.

Low Vision Support Group: Nov. 18, 10 a.m.

Digital Photography from the Beginning: Nov. 18, 12:30 p.m. Eileen Findak will teach seniors about f-stops and shutter speed and how they relate to the camera icons. Learn ways to enhance the quality of photos. Bring a camera and its manual.

Memory Screenings: Nov. 19. Call to schedule an appointment.

Dare to Be 100: Nov. 19, 9 a.m. Free UH Geauga Medical Center presentation on Keeping Your Memory Sharp followed by confidential memory screenings. Call for an appointment.

St. Anselm Students Visit: Nov. 20. The third-grade class from St. Anselm will be visiting to discuss how things compare between generations.

What Should I Take?: Nov. 14, 11 a.m. Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services will provide tips on planning for an emergency and discuss how developing a plan can relieve anxiety.

Balance Screening: Nov. 15. Call for an appointment. Free.

Memory Screening: Nov. 19. UH Medical Center will provide free screenings. Call for an appointment.

Sex and the Senior: Nov. 20, 11 a.m. UH nurse Julie will present the free program.

Dare to Be 100:?Nov. 21, 10 a.m. UH Geauga Medical Center will give a free presentation on Keeping Your Memory Sharp. Presentation will be followed by free confidential memory screenings.

Holiday Meals For Seniors

The Geauga County Department on Aging will offer a traditional holiday meal to any Geauga County senior, age 60 and older, who will be home and alone on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28 and/or Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

A friendly volunteer will deliver a hot holiday meal to the seniors home and spend a little time visiting on Thanksgiving and/or Christmas day.

To receive a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal, call the Department on Aging by Nov. 15 for Thanksgiving and Dec. 13 for Christmas.

If one is or knows a senior citizen who will be home and along on the holidays, call the department on aging at 440-279-2130, 440-564-7131, ext. 2130 or 440-834-1856, ext. 2130.

Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP

The Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP 4527 will hold its holiday party Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. The event will feature a buffet dinner with dessert at Sun Valley Party Center, 10000 Edwards Lane, Auburn Township. Cost is $16 for members and $19 for nonmembers.

The group is still collecting food for the Food for Friends food pantry and donations for the USO
