Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP

The Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP 4527 will meet Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. at the Bainbridge Town Hall, 17826 Chillicothe Road. All are welcome.

Bainbridge Fire Department will present a program on winter fire safety.

Coffee will be served. The group will discuss upcoming programs. The first trip of the season is in April. For more information, see Skip or Marge at the travel table.

The group is still collecting food and paper products for the Food for Friends food pantry and donations for the USO.

Soup and Celebration: Feb. 4, 11 a.m. University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center will present a different health topic each month as part of its Celebrate Life: Past, Present and Future program. This months presentation will focus on arthritis and the benefits of exercise. Enjoy a delicious cup of soup from Beans Coffee Shop.

Low Vision Support Group: Feb. 10, 10 a.m.

Jan. 31st: Chinese New Year Volleyball: Jan. 31, 10 a.m. At Chagrin Falls Senior Center, have fun playing chair volleyball followed by a lunch of fried rice, egg roll and fortune cookie. Cost is $6. Reservations required.

Site Meeting: Feb. 5, 12:30 p.m. Seniors will have an opportunity to go over current events and plan for upcoming ones. Open to any senior. Marianne Deatsch, Home Delivered Meal coordinator, will speak about her program as well as volunteer opportunities.

Podiatrist: Feb. 7, 9:30 a.m. Dr. Kessinger will provide basic podiatry care. Call the center directly for an appointment.

Water Exercise Class: Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 1 p.m. at Metzenbaum Center. Call the senior center; space is limited.

Senior Independence Speaker: Feb. 5. Jeanne will be speak on the signs and symptoms of heart disease and preventative actions you can take to avoid heart disease. The nurse will also provide blood pressure checks.

Breakfast and Speaker Series: Feb. 7. Breakfast served at 9 a.m. Cost is $3. UH Geauga nurse Julie Bogden will speak at 9:15 a.m. followed by an arthritis exercise class.
