Better Choices, Better Health runs every Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. through Nov. 19, at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive in Munson. Morning Star Friends Church, 12550 Ravenna Road, Munson, will hold its next “Celebrate Recovery” meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 23. The Christian 12-step addictions recovery program is free and held weekly for those seeking to conquer any addiction.

Good Tidings Benefit Choir
Practices for the free Christmas concert presented by the Good Tidings Benefit Choir are being held every Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Sisters of Notre Dame Provincial Chapel, 13000 Auburn Road, Munson. There are no auditions, just the enjoyment of singing Christmas music.

No.1 Dog Contest
Geauga County Auditor Frank Gliha is seeking the No. 1 Dog in Geauga County for 2014. The contest is open to all fourth and fifth-grade students residing in the county and requires a paragraph on why their dog is the best.
Entries addressed to “No. 1 Dog Contest,” Geauga County Auditor, 231 Main St., Suite 1-A, Chardon, OH 44024, must be received by Nov. 8. The winner will be announced the week of Dec. 1, with the No. 1 dog tag presented to the winner Dec. 2.

Munson’s Halloween Party
For a safe alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating, bring the family to the Munson Fire Station on Auburn Road on Oct. 31 from 6-9 p.m. for the annual Munson Fire Department Halloween party.
The event is free. Costumes are encouraged. There will much fun and refreshments.
Monetary donations are being accepted prior to the event to help offset costs and can be mailed or delivered to the fire department at 12200 Auburn Road, 44024. Candy and food donations are not being accepted.
