Township Meetings

Trustees meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the township hall at 6:30 p.m. Occasionally, there are exceptions. October’s first meeting on Oct. 2 will begin at 5 p.m.

All meetings are advertised on the sign in front of the township hall. Residents are encouraged to attend the meetings, especially if they have any questions or concerns.

Hambden Elementary Turns 90

Help us celebrate Hambden Elementary School’s 90th birthday on Oct. 23. The doors will be open at 6:30 p.m. to welcome former students and teachers, as well as current faculty, students and their families and friends.

The school has been collecting class pictures, memorabilia and other artifacts to display.

Parking will be at the school, the Hambden town hall and the township park across the street.

If anyone has any Hambden Elementary memorabilia to add to the display, please drop it off in the school office.

Special thanks goes to the Chardon Schools Foundation for sponsoring this important event.

Fire Dept. Clam/Steak Bake

For those who missed last week’s dinner, Hambden Fire Department will hold its second and final clam and steak bake of the season on Oct. 19 from 7-8:30 p.m. Dinner includes a dozen clams or steak, half a chicken, two ears of corn, sweet potatoes, clam broth and beverages. Cost is $25.

Fall Trash Day

Fall Trash Day will take place at the township park Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to noon. No yard waste, garbage, paint or hazardous chemicals will be accepted.

There is no shredding at fall trash day.
