Cardinal Alumni Association

There is a web page, but not an association, so let’s get one started.

Calling all graduates of Cardinal High School, including those from Middlefield, Huntsburg or Parkman high schools, who graduated five or more years ago: an informational meeting will be held at the Cardinal Local Schools Board Office on June 30 at 6 p.m. for those interested in getting the Cardinal Alumni Association started.

Please pass the word and attend. Call Merry Lou Knuckles at 440-632-0261 for more information.

Grange Summer Concerts

Huntsburg Grange presents the first of its free summer concerts on June 21 from 6-8 p.m. in the Huntsburg Bandstand Park at the corner of US322 and SR528. The Boys Are Back will be performing and interacting with the crowd.

Refreshments will be available in the pavilion, and the winner of the 2014 chili cook-off will be there with chili. There will also be a cakewalk and 50/50 raffle.

Bring a blanket and lawn chair to be comfortable while listening, snacking and reuniting with friends and neighbors at the concert.

The concerts go on rain or shine. If it rains, the concerts will be held in the town hall.

The Huntsburg Grange welcomes new members and any inquiries about the Huntsburg Grange. If one would like to sponsor the Huntsburg Grange in the community benefit projects as an individual or business, please call Lynnette at 440-477-2822. All help is appreciated.

The next concert is set for July 19 from 6-8 p.m. with Fort Huntsburg Band. Tim Frank Septic Service of Huntsburg is sponsoring the concert.

Chamber Open House

The Middlefield Chamber of Commerce held an open house on June 10 at the new office location of 16014 E. High St. in Middlefield, right across from the VFW Hall and Western Reserve Farm Co-Op store. Chamber members were able to meet so many people who were able to stop in.

Many people helped with the open house. Thanks go to Judy Breedlove of Crossroads Country Cafe, Cater4U, Western Reserve Farm Co-Op, Middlefield Post, The Good News, Huntington Bank, and many more for all the help in setting up and cleaning up. It was good to see everyone there.

Chamber Meeting

The next meeting of the Middlefield Chamber of Commerce is July 8 at 7:30 a.m. at Crossroads Country Cafe, 15916 West High St. in Middlefield. Breakfast will be available.
