West Geauga Recreation Council Day Camp
Wednesday, January 23, 2013
It’s never too early to start planning for summer.
West Geauga Recreation Council Day Camp is a great program that will keep your kids busy all summer long. The Rec Council Day Camp is available for children entering kindergarten through eigth grade and is located adjacent to the West Geauga Middle School in Chester Township.
The campground consists of 15 wooded acres with a covered pavilion, heated swimming pool, volleyball court, soccer field, basketball courts, an arts and crafts pavilion, and playgrounds.
There are five two-week sessions, each with a different theme and activities that go with those themes. Daily activities also include arts and crafts, sports, hiking, swimming (under supervision of licensed lifeguards), special guests, cookouts and entertainment.
The WGRC day camp runs from mid-June to mid-August.
This year, parents are able to register their children for two-week sessions or on a per week or per day basis.
The camp is registered with the Ohio Department of Human Services, as required by the Ohio Revised Code, and maintains a 6-10:1 ratio of children to counselors.
Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Before care is available from 79 a.m. and after care is available from 36 p.m.
