Beautiful weather we are having... beautiful blue skies and fluffy white clouds, with the leaves covering the lawns. Time to get the flowerbeds cleaned out, fall bulbs planted and get ready for winter.

A busy week we had with grandson Danny Ray getting married on Oct. 16 and having daughter Betty and Melvin here for the night of Oct. 15. On Oct. 18, sister Emma and Andy Weaver from Jasper, N.Y., were here so we took lunch down to sister Ellen and Bill Detweilerâ s. Also going were sister Edna and Bill Byler and niece Barbara Yutzy. The morning of Oct. 19, daughter-in-law Ray (Judy) and I served breakfast for the Leadership Geauga group of 37 people.

Seth, son of Marty and Susan Miller of Shedd Road, got his foot and ankle broken playing football, needing surgery. It was broken in six places. He will be laid up for quite a while.

Dan and Sylvia Miller and family and newlyweds Danny Ray and Betty Miller went to see the fall foliage and elk in Pennsylvania on Oct. 19-20.

The evening of Oct. 21, our family celebrated daughter Sylvia's birthday at their house. Missing were sons Mark and Philip's families. Men sat around the campfire, with the women visiting indoors with the â little people.⠝ Ice cream, cake and snacks were served.

Our sympathy goes out to the John Kauffman family in the recent passing of their mother/grandmother. She was a few days close to being 95.

Oct. 21 was the wedding of widow Linda Weaver of Newcomb Road and widower Danny Troyer of Clymer, N.Y. They will be living at Linda's place.

Crist R. Hershberger has been feeling under the weather after a nasty fall, resulting in a bad concussion and being quite dizzy at times. We hope he will soon be feeling better.

Planning to spend a few days visiting family here in the community are brother Albert and Mary Ann Miller from Crossville, Tenn., with plans to be at Crist and Clara Hershberger's the evening of Oct. 24.

There will be many people traveling to Munfordville, Ky., this week for the wedding of widow Erma Miller and Ben Weaver.

There will be a barbecue chicken dinner and live and silent auctions for Saw Mill Lane School at Joeâ s Window Shop on Oct. 26. Everyone is welcome.
