Holiday Benefit Auction
The Kent State University Geauga Campus Student Nurses Association will be holding a silent auction and raffle to benefit a local area family this holiday season. Auction will be held Nov. 26-30 at the Geauga Campus 14111 Claridon Troy Road in Burton. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with additional evening hours Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Black Friday Cat Adoption
Rescue Village is having a blowout Black Friday sale Nov. 23. Every cat in the shelter (and small animals, too) is free.

Relay Christmas Bazaar
A holiday craft and vendor bazaar to benefit Relay for Life will take place Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chardon V.F.W. Post, 752 Water St.
The event will feature several local crafters and vendors along with a raffle.
Admission is free. Donations to Relay For Life accepted at the door.
Czech Christmas Bread Sale
DTJ Taborville is selling the traditional Czech Christmas bread by order only. Vanocka or houska is a sweet dough with golden raisins and almonds baked into a braided loaf.
Cost is $6.50. Orders must be placed by Dec. 10 and can be picked up Dec. 16.

PCC Chili Supper
Pilgrim Christian Church will be serving its annual chili and hot dog supper in its fellowship hall Nov. 29 prior to the Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the square.
Enjoy a chili supper or hot dog meal anytime between 5-7 p.m. Cost is $3 or get a chili/hot dog combo for $4.
The church is located on the southeast corner of the square, next to the fire station.
Ladies Helping Ladies
A Ladies Helping Ladies holiday vendor fair will take place Nov. 30 from 6-9 p.m. at Hambden Elementary School gym. Cost is $1 and includes five raffle tickets for prizes.
Please donate coats, boots, laundry detergent and garbage bags for additional raffle tickets.
Stuff The Bus
East Geauga Kiwanis and Cardinal Key and Builders clubs are sponsoring a "Stuff the Bus" holiday collection to benefit Geauga County Jobs and Family Services. The Cardinal school bus will be at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Middlefield on Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items to donate may include toys, clothing, gift cards, books and packaged food.
Chester Eagles Chili Cook-Off
Chester Township Eagles are hosting a chili cook-off Nov. 24 from 1-5 p.m. at Callam's Restaurant located at the corner of State Route 306 and Mayfield Road.
Cash prize for best chili. Entrants fee is $15. All contestants must supply own crockpot or chaffer and have chili to Callam�s by 12:30 p.m.
Cost to taste all chili is a $2 donation. Event features a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds will go to a local charity.
Russell Twp. Holiday Lighting
Russell Township's "Lighting of the Greens" will take place Dec. 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Russell Town Hall located on the northwest corner of routes 306 and 87
There will be music by Notre Dame band students, carols by the Russell Brownie troop, a sing-a-long and countdown to the lighting of the greens. Westwood Elementary students made decorations for the town hall and the tree.
Refreshments will be served and Santa is also coming to the party.

Auburn Poinsettia Sale
Auburn Career Center will hold its annual holiday poinsettia sale starting Nov. 26 in its horticulture building and greenhouse located at 10985 Girdled Road, right behind the high school. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30-10:30 a.m. and 12-2 p.m.
A wide variety of colors are available, including: burgundy, red, pink marble, jingle bells, white and white glitter.
Chardon Christmas Lighting
Chardon Square Association will host the annual Christmas lighting on the square and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus Nov. 29 from 5 to 8 p.m.
The evening will begin with a chili dinner at the Pilgrim Christian Church from 5-7 p.m. The lighting ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the bandstand with music provided by the Geauga Music Center and caroling by the Chardon High School Free Harmony. There will be free cider and cookies provided by the Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce.
The square will be lit at 7 p.m. and Santa will arrive from the North Pole by horse drawn sleigh. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available in the log cabin for kids to talk to about their Christmas wishes.
The Chardon Square Association would like to thank the City of Chardon for helping decorate the square.

Bluegrass Jamboree
A bluegrass jamboree will be held at Hambden Grange Hall, corner of routes 6 and 608, from 7-11 p.m. Nov. 24.
Evening will feature Vertical Limit, Red Lantern Band and Stoney River Band.

Christmas in Thompson
Christmas in Thompson Craft Show is Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ledgemont High School, 16700 Thompson Road, Thompson.
Enjoy the work of area crafters, a Chinese auction and dinner provided by the Ledgemont senior class.
Free admission with donation of a non-perishable item for the food bank.

Kiwanis Christmas Tree Sale
The West Geauga Kiwanis Chesterland Christmas tree sale starts Nov. 23 at 9 a.m. at Chester Square Plaza, opposite Drug Mart. Locally grown Scots pine, Fraser fir and blue spruce, some as much as 10 feet tall, will be available.

Low Cost Spay/Neuter
Rescue Village and PetFix Northeast Ohio have teamed up to help stop pet overpopulation by offering low cost spay/neuter for cats and dogs to low income families and individuals. One does not have to live in Geauga County to qualify.
A clinic will take place Nov. 28 at Rescue Village, 15463 Chillicothe Road in Russell Township. Fees vary by animal�s gender and weight, but range is from $30 to $70.
There are still limited openings for the November clinic. To register, call 440-338-4819 ext. 10.
Holiday Boutique
The 13th annual Holiday Boutique at Liberty Assisted Living takes place Nov. 30, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Dec. 1, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be crafts, Lia Sophia, quilting, stained glass, photography, baked goods, knitting, hostess gifts, much more.

No entrance fee to shop and many reasonably priced items.
