New Year's Eve Dinner Dance
Ring in the new year Dec. 31 at Parkman Community House, 16295 Main Market. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. Heavy hors d'oeuvres buffet begins at 8 p.m. Disc jockey Jockey Joe will be playing everyone's favorite tunes from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Snow Melter at the Shelter
Rescue Village is offering its annual Snow Melter at the Shelter winter camp Dec. 27 and 28. The hands-on camp is for children 9-11 and runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Fee of $65 is due at time of registration. Lunch is included. Activities will be held indoors as well as outdoors.

Replenish Local Food Cupboards
The youth of First Congregational Church are collecting nonperishable items to build a food sculpture in December and January. The items will then be donated to the food cupboards at Burton Congregational Church and New Testament Baptist Church.
Nonperishable items may be dropped off during community dinners on Jan. 15, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 13942 Mayfield Road, as well as on Sunday mornings.

Low Cost Spay/Neuter
Rescue Village and PetFix Northeast Ohio have teamed up to help stop pet overpopulation by offering low cost spay/neuter for cats and dogs to low income families and individuals. One does not have to live in Geauga County to qualify.
A clinic will take place Jan. 23 at Rescue Village, 15463 Chillicothe Road in Russell Township. Fees vary by animal�s gender and weight, but range is from $30 to $70.

Holiday Volunteers Needed
The Geauga County Department on Aging is looking for Holiday Home Delivered Meal drivers that can volunteer a few minutes of their time on Christmas Day, Dec. 25.
Volunteers will collect the holiday meals and depart with them from the Department on Aging located at 12555 Ravenwood Drive in Chardon. Those who help must be 18 years of age or older and should arrive at the department at 11 a.m. Christmas Day.

Birthday Celebration
A birthday open house celebrating the 90th birthday of Robert H. Eldridge, former mayor of Chardon, will take place Dec. 29 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pilgrim Christian Church in Chardon. The public is invited to attend the event hosted by his children.

Cordial Connections provides the opportunity for single seniors 50 and older to meet new people and enjoy a variety of activities. Start the New Year off with a bang and meet other single seniors.
