Genealogical Society Xmas Party
The Geauga County Genealogical Society will celebrate the season with its annual Christmas party at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Chardon Library, 110 E. Park St. Appetizers and desserts and beverages will be provided.
Sunny Morton will speak on �Glory Days: Researching Our Athletic Ancestors.� Guests may find some hints for speaking with relatives and gathering family history information during the holidays.
The party is free and open to the public.
Photos with Santa Paws
Pet owners can bring their pets to Rescue Village on Dec. 15 from 1-5 p.m. for photos with Santa Paws. Photos are $15.
Attendees are asked to bring donations of food, blankets and other necessities for the homeless animals.

Pearl Harbor Day
American Legion Post 459 is hosting an event at the Burton Village gazebo on the square at 11 a.m. Dec. 7 to commemorate Pearl Harbor Day. Members of the post will conduct services honoring service men and women.

Bainbridge CC Cookie Walk
Bainbridge Community Church will hold its fourth annual Cookie Walk Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Enjoy holiday music while selecting from a variety of homemade Christmas cookies and treats individually boxed and sold by the pound. Pet treats will also be available.
The walk will also include a handmade craft table and gift-wrapping table where people can have presents wrapped for a donation. Proceeds will go toward the Summer Youth Mission trip.

Kiwanis Sock & Mitten Tree
The East Geauga Kiwanis Club is sponsoring a "Sock & Mitten" tree at the Crossroads Country Cafe, 15916 W. High St. in Middlefield. Donations of socks, hats, mittens, scarves, gloves and underwear will be accepted until Dec. 16 and will benefit Geauga County Jobs & Family Services.

Czech Christmas Bread Sale
DTJ Taborville is selling the traditional Czech Christmas bread by order only. Vanocka, or houska, is a sweet dough with golden raisins and almonds baked into a braided loaf.
Cost is $6.50. Orders must be placed by Dec. 10 and can be picked up Dec. 16.

Open Community Giveaway
Feed My People Inc., an outreach ministry of the community, is having an open giveaway of clothes, household items and toys for families in need. It will be hosted Dec. 6 and 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Dec. 8 from 9-11 a.m. at the Celebration Lutheran Church, 10621 Auburn Road across from E-check.

LWV Hosts Holiday Luncheon
The League of Women Voters of Geauga County will hold its annual holiday potluck luncheon at noon Dec. 15 at the home of Janet Kramarz, 13320 Foxmoor Trail in Chesterland.
All members and anyone interested in joining the league are invited to attend and should bring a big dish, pot or tray to share. Beverages, plates and utensils will be provided. A brief board and planning meeting will follow lunch.

Breakfast With The Clauses
Munson Township is holding its annual Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus Dec. 8 at the Munson Township Hall, 12210 Auburn Road. Pictures with the Claus' will be available. Cost for the pancake and sausage breakfast is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 4-12 and free to children 3 and under.

Countryside Bakery Celebration
Countryside Home Bakery is celebrating its seventh anniversary with an open house Dec. 14 and 15, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be drawings, free coffee and more.
Guests will receive discounts on holiday orders placed and prepaid during the event.
