Why?
I was very disappointed to see graffiti painted all over a bathroom in one of our local park's restrooms. Geauga county has the most wonderful parks and I visit them often. But unfortunately someone spray painted all over the window, the walls and even the toilet. I dont understand why anyone would do this. But very soon after this incident, the Park Staff cleaned this up and repainted the restroom. I wanted to thank the Park staff for their prompt attention and
hopefully people will be respectful of public property.

Volunteer Commended
The Chester Park Board volunteers are to be commended for the work they have achieved in 2012. I am sure many of our residents have noticed the substantial improvements that have been made at Parkside Park.
I would like to clarify a couple points that were in the Chesterland News article on Dec. 5, 2012, discussing the 80-acre parcel on the north end of town. The article referenced a proposed budget to earmark $150,000 for development of the park."
To clarify, the $150,000 is the budget amount for the Chester Park Board in 2013, not for development of the 80-acre parcel. For 2013, $91,810 has been allocated for specific Parkside Park improvements identified by the Chester Park Board.
Presently, there are no specific plans detailing how the remaining funds would be used in 2013. As I have previously stated, I do not support appropriating taxpayer monies in a budget without identifying and detailing those costs.
In 2012, there has been some been brief board discussions regarding potential uses for the 80-acre parcel, but there have been no specific public proposals, designs, detailed costs or thorough public discussion on the subject.
I look forward to the Board of Trustees establishing a public meeting in early 2013 to discuss plans and obtain community input on this important issue.
