National speaker and Chardon resident Patrick Hartory will visit the Chardon Public Library to present a free brain health program at 7 p.m. Dec. 3. Attend the fun and educational program and improve one's natural ability to remember names and details, discover the super "brain foods" that slow mental aging and learn easy-to-use tips on keeping one's mind healthy and strong.

The free program will conclude with a book signing where copies of Hartory's new book, "Your Ageless Mind," will be available for purchase.

Call the library's reference desk at 440-285-7601 to register.

December Programs At Burton Public Library

The Burton Public Library announces four upcoming programs for adults. On Dec. 1 at 11 a.m., local author Patrick Hartory will discuss his book, "Your Ageless Mind." Mr. Hartory offers great advice on how to keep our minds nimble as we age. He will have signed copies of his book available for purchase and there will be a drawing so one lucky audience member will go home with a free book.

Also on Dec. 1 will be a Holiday Gift Make It & Take It class at 1 p.m. All instructions and materials will be provided to complete a holiday gift jar. A $5 registration fee is required and must be paid before the day of the class.

On Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m., author Don Philabaum will be at the library to discuss his book of advice to parents of unemployed grads. His book, "The Unemployed Grad and What Parents Can Do About It," will be available for purchase. The author will give away several free copies to program attendees.

The library's first "Crafternoon" will take place Dec. 11 from 2-3 p.m. Stop by the upstairs large meeting room to create lovely hand-stamped cards for holiday giving. A $1 fee includes all of the materials to make three cards per person.

To register for the programs, call the Burton Public Library at 440-834-4466.
