The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff's Office Oct. 12-18. In total, the sheriff's office handled 138 calls during this seven-day period.
Citizen Assist
Oct. 15
1:45 p.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Ammo dropped off at post.
Property Damage
Oct. 17
9:41 a.m., Taylor Wells Road, Claridon. Complainant leases fields and reports 4-wheelers have damaged his bean croip. Deputy observed 4-wheel ATV tracks going through middle of field on northside of road. Observed well traveled area on the westside that appears to be used regularly by vehicles larger than 4-wheelers.
Suspicious
Oct. 17
11:42 a.m., Mulberry Road, Munson. The drilling crew is polluting the water with some gray substance. Drilling cew has a water barrier for geo-thermal drilling. Water went into the stream. Water is from the clay in the ground.
2:30 p.m., Ravenna Rod, Munson. Caller will be back at the office in 20 minutes. Someone used their pad to try and write a medical excuse. Alerted to them by Giant Eagle. Made contact with two males involved, who accepted responsibiity for using/taking doctor letterhead to forge doctor' s name in an effort to return to work. Notepad was used to return to work at Giant Eagle. No charges requested by doctors or staff where notepad was taken.
Oct. 18
9:09 a.m., GAR Highway, Hambden. Older guy around 60 asked my niece's daughter to talk to him by his car at the bus stop at Leaders Trailer Park this morning. The juvenile did not go near him. She didn' t recognize him. Caller is at Hambden Elementary now. Student is in class. No good description of male or vehicle. Extra patrol requested.
5:50 p.m., Taylor Wells Road. Caller states that they believe someone was in their hot tub sometime earlier today. Nothing is missing. Extra patrol requested.
Theft
Oct. 15
5:27 p.m., Shedd Road, Troy. Someone stole the cash register from Shedd Road Salvage. They believe it happened about 15 minutes ago, but do not have a suspect description.
Threatening
Oct. 15
4:05 p.m., Bridge Creek Trail, Auburn. Caller is receiving threats from another make who has left messages on the caller's phone saying he is going to' pistol whip' him. He accused caller of stealing money from him and ever since has been making these threats. Complainant was advised not to text message his ex-friend again or have anymore contact with him. Complainant wants incident documented and was advised to block the number. Advice also was given how to obtain a civil restraining order.
