The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff�s Office Oct. 19-25. In total, the sheriff�s office handled 311 calls during this seven-day period.

Agency assist

Oct.19

12:29 p.m., Wisner Road, Chardon. Asking for a K-9 for a search of a suicidal male in the woods. Male was located and taken into custody upon arrival.

Animal Problem

Oct. 19

2:28 p.m., Princeton Road, Huntsburg. Large cow standing in the road. Owner is collecting the cow.

Oct. 21

6:29 p.m., Munn Road, Newbury. There are two large hogs in my yard. Animals have not damaged the complainant�s property but he believes it�s only a matter of time. Spoke with neighbor and he will be heading over to neighbor�s.

Oct. 22

12:42 p.m., Clay Street, Montville. Owl is stuck in a barb-wire fence. Penitentiary Glen wildlife was called; they have a ranger coming out. Ranger is on her way. Homeowner was called back and she is getting a box and leather gloves together to assist. Ranger held owl while homeowner gave permission for fence wire to be cut. Owl placed in box. Homeowner has until wildlife personnel can take custody.

Oct. 23

4:38 a.m., Tavern Road, Burton. Six plow horses walking in the road. Horses were gathered by owner.

Domestic Violence

Oct. 24

4:59 p.m., Terrace Drive, Middlefield. Male and female are outside fighting. She hit him in the face and smashed his glasses. Called in by neighbor. The male stated there was not fighting; he stated his wife talks loud.

Juvenile Problem

Oct. 22

4:47 p.m., Nicki Lane, Hambden. Ten-year-old male stated a boy punched him in the face. Older sister is there and doesn�t know what is going on. Mutual tackle football game was being played that got out of control and some juveniles got mad at others for being a little rough during the game. Approximately five different stories received from the juvenile involved. Father of juvenile complainant wanted the kids talked to. All kids warned about their behavior and advice given on flag football.

Suspicious

Oct. 19

6:31 p.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Caller states there were a few males who went into the woods behind trailer park. Caller believes they are going back to make methamphetamine. Caller did not actually see the males; another resident saw them 20 minutes ago. Checked walking path behind mailboxes; nothing suspicous located.

Oct. 20

7:05 p.m., Main Market Road, Troy. Report of another underage party tonight. Mother and her children are charing admission for alcohol consumption.

Theft

Oct. 21

5:56 p.m., Pekin Road, Newbury. Friday night daughter had some friends over. Someone stole the XBox and controllers.
