Notice is hereby given that during the Council meeting held Tuesday, December 31, 2013, the Village of Middlefield passed the following legislation:
An Ordinance To Make Appropriations for Current Expenses and Other Expenditures of the Village of Middlefield, State of Ohio, During Fiscal Year Ending December 31, 2014 and Declaring an Emergency.
An Ordinance Amending the 2013 Permanent Appropriations and Declaring an Emergency.

REVIEW AND REVISION TO LOCAL MITIGATION PLAN FOR
GEAUGA COUNTY, OHIO
The Geauga County Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee is reviewing and revising the local mitigation plan for Geauga County, Ohio, to reflect changes in development, progress in local mitigation efforts, and changes in priorities in accordance with 44 CFR 201.6. The Mitigation Plan addresses the types, location, probability and vulnerability to various natural and technological hazards that may impact both property and citizens of Geauga County.
The public is invited to review the current plan and provide comments to the Committee before it begins the update planning process required every five (5) years. A copy of the plan is posted on the County website at http://www.co.geauga.oh.us/Departments/DES.aspx. The plan is also available for review by the public at the Geauga County Department of Emergency Services, 12518 Merritt Road, Chardon, Ohio. Please forward any comments to the Committee c/o Tara Vargovich, Deputy Director – Planning at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (440) 279-2170.
Copies of the plan are also available for review and comment on CD-ROM at the following libraries: Bainbridge Library, Geauga West Library, Chardon Library, Middlefield Library, Newbury Library Station and Thompson Library Station.
Please refer to the County website for the scheduled meeting date(s), time(s) and location of the Geauga County Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee. The public is invited to attend and participate in each meeting. The first meeting of the Committee is scheduled for Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. and will be held at the Department of Emergency Services located at 12518 Merritt Road, Chardon, Ohio 44024.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
APPEAL FOR VARIANCE TO
Notice is hereby given that the Newbury Township Board of Zoning Appeals will conduct a public hearing for: 1) area variances at 7:30 p.m. & 2) use Variance continuance at 8:00 p.m. on the 21st day of January, 2014 at the Newbury Town Hall.
1) David Bitterman, builder, requests area variances for Paul Perelman, to build a detached 36 x 40 ft. garage straddling 2 contiguous lots (vacating internal lot line setbacks) & 5 ft. from the rear property line (vs. Art. V, Sec. 5.05 required 30 ft. rear setback, & 5.02 A3b max. 1280 sq. ft.) located at 15595 Valley View Drive in Little Punderson in the R-1 district.
2) Nancy R. Negrelli requests a use variance continuance for the grandfathered non-conforming multi-family/duplex use of the front building and the existing residential rental unit in the rear building located at 10574 Kinsman Road in the B-1 district (vs, Art. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
City of Chardon
The City of Chardon Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing to consider the applications described below on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at 6:30 P.M. in Council Chambers at the Municipal Center, 111 Water Street, Chardon, OH 44024. The meeting is subject to adjournment or recess to a later date without another Notice of Public Hearing (O.R.C. 3115.05(c)).
PC Case #14-002: Applicant Bob Evans Farms is requesting Concept Site Plan approval to construct a restaurant at 295 Meadowlands Drive. In addition to the Concept Site Plan Approval they are requesting four variances to construct the restaurant.
The following variances have been requested: 1) Section 1139.07 Reduce the front yard setback from 50 to 45 along Meadowlands Drive; 2) Section 1129.07(c) Increase the maximum number of secondary frontages from two to three; 3) Section 1129.09 – Increase the maximum height for a ground sign from 6 to 13; 4) Section 1129.09 Increase the maximum sign area for a ground sign from 32 sq. ft. to 54 sq. ft.
The property is located on the north side of Meadowlands Drive on the northwest corner of the intersection of Meadowlands Dr. and Center St. The address of the property is 295 Meadowlands Drive, Chardon, OH 44024, with Parcel ID# 10-165672.
