The Geauga County Airport Authority will receive proposals for Improvements to Geauga County Airport, Middlefield, Ohio. Proposals will be received by the Geauga County Airport Authority until 11:00 a.m. prevailing time on Friday, May 2, 2014 and will be opened and read publicly at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014 at their offices at Geauga County Airport, 15421 Old State Road, Middlefield, Ohio 44062. Bids shall be on the prescribed form furnished with the Specifications and shall be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The Geauga County Airport Authority reserves the right to waive any informalities in or reject any or all bids. Proposals shall be considered irregular if the proposal is on a form not furnished by the Owner. Proposals submitted on forms downloaded from the internet or copied from a set on display will not be accepted.

Each bidder must submit with his proposal a bid security in the form of a bond in an amount equal to not less than 100% of the bid, or a certified check in an amount equal to not less than 10% of the bid. Said security shall be in the form and subject to the conditions given in the Instruction to Bidders. No bidder may withdraw his bid within ninety (90) days after the actual date of the opening.

The successful bidder will be required to start work within five (5) calendar days after Notice to Proceed and to complete the work within 30 consecutive calendar days, with liquidated damages of $700.00 per calendar day for failure to complete the work on time.

The successful bidder will be required to pay his employees at wage rates not less than the prevailing rate of wages as prescribed in Chapter 4115 of the Ohio Revised Code.

The work covered herein is to be accomplished with the aid of funds from the Ohio Department of Transportation, Office of Aviation. All contracts, award of contract, work accomplished thereunder, etc., will be subject to the review and approval of the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The proposed contract is under and subject to Executive Order 11246 of September 24, 1965, and to Equal Opportunity Clause.

The Bidder (Proposer) must supply all the information required by the bid or proposal form.

In order to bid on this project, contractors and subcontractors will be required to be enrolled and in good standing in an Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) Drug-Free Workplace Program (DFWP), or Drug-Free EZ Program, or an equivalent BWC approved DFWP in accordance with but not limited to Ohio Administration Code Chapter 4123-17 and Executive Order 2002-13T.

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Auburn Township Board of Trustees until 4:00 p.m., official local time, on Monday, April 28, 2014 for the following 2 projects. Bidders must submit a bid proposal on both projects quoting a total cost for each individual project and to include a grand total for both.

#1. The purchase and installation of an 150KW, 120/208 volts, three phase Cummins Onan or Kohler Natural Gas Generator and 600 Amp Exterior Automatic Transfer Switch at the Auburn Fire Station, 10950 Washington Street, Auburn Township, OH 44023.

#2. The relocation of an existing 60KW, 120/208 volts, three phase Cummins Bridgeway Natural Gas Generator, 200 Amp Automatic Transfer Switch from the Fire Department to the Service Garage, 17666 Auburn Road, Auburn Township, OH 44023. Generator and Automatic Transfer Switch to be reconfigured and installed for single phase.

Specifications may be obtained from the Auburn Administration office from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during normal working days or downloaded from the township website, www.auburntownship.com. Bidders are required to return the Bid Forms and to note on the outside of the sealed bid envelope “AVFD Generator BID”.

A certified check or bid bond in the amount of 5 (five) percent of the total bid must accompany any proposal. The successful bidder’s 5% certified check bond will be held as a performance bond until acceptance of the completed project by John Phillips, Auburn Fire Chief.
