Nancy McArthur Elected New GOP Chair

City of Chardon Councilwoman Nancy McArthur was elected the new chair of the Geauga County Republican Party Thursday night.

City of Chardon Councilwoman Nancy McArthur was elected the new chair of the Geauga County Republican Party Thursday night.

McArthur, who also is the Republican candidate for District 99 of the Ohio House of Representatives, beat out Russell Township’s Linda O’Brien in the second round of voting among the party’s Central Committee members. The meeting was held at the GOP headquarters in Munson Township.

McArthur takes over for former party Chairman Ed Ryder, who announced earlier this year he would not seek re-election as party chairman.

Chester Township Trustee Mike Petruziello also was a candidate, but dropped out after the first round of voting.

McArthur is a small business relationship manager at KeyBank in Chardon.

She hold a bachelor’s degree in communications from Cleveland State University and has more than 25 years of business experience in marketing, sales, human resources, legal and financial services.

A 17-year resident of Chardon, McArthur is a member of Chardon Tomorrow, Chardon Square Association, Geauga Lyric Theater Guild, Chardon Chamber of Commerce and Red Key Network.

She has been married for 33 years to Michael McArthur and they have two children.
